Featured today: one of the more modern containers for housing oysters are the flippable baskets. These baskets sit on the surface of the water and rise & fall with the tide. They're lightweight, portable, and can flip over to allow the oysters to dry or be elevated above the water when water quality is sub-standard.

Here on the Tweed River we are constantly making improvements to our tourism experience. The Birds Bay Oyster Farm is undergoing new developments; we've built an oyster-grading machine and oyster processing area where guests can take a sneak-peak at the story behind the fresh produce they eat.

We were lucky to be visited by the team from Malaysia's 'Astro Arena' TV Station! It was a pleasure to show this group a beautiful part of the Gold Coast, and to treat them to a luxurious seafood feast with fresh rock oysters & boiled mudcrab.

Our December '17 harvest is here! What a great way to conclude an excellent year of river-cruising & oyster farming. This harvest has brought some plump, tasty Rock Oysters into our stock. Hard work pays off!
